VELUX Skylights and Roof Windows

National Lumber is pleased to introduce you to the new VELUX solar powered skylight. This exciting development in skylight technology provides remote control that is solar powered. This means no wiring is needed. For anyone installing skylights, this is the logical product for its ease of installation and ease of use. The solar panel will work on cloudy days and with indirect light. It does not have to be exposed to direct sunlight to function. An integrated rain sensor automatically closes the solar powered skylight, in case of inclement weather. Click here for more information about why builders want to use this new product.

Plus, it's backed by the VELUX No Leak Warranty. The No Leak Skylight carries the 10-year installation warranty plus 20-years on glass, 10-years on product, and 5-years on blinds and controls. VELUX flashing is required to qualify.

In addition, the VELUX solar powered venting skylight is available with factory installed window blinds. Any homeowner who has tried to purchase blinds after a skylight was installed, will immediately understand the benefit of this feature. The integrated blind is also remote controlled and powered by the same solar power panel. In the pictures at left below, you can see a demonstration model with the blind mechanism as seen from outside the skylight; the next picture shows the blind material as seen from inside the skylight. A pink large print material was used for the blind in this demonstration model, but a wide range of decorative colors and patterns are available.

Another benefit of installing a VELUX solar powered venting skylight is that homeowners can receive a 30% federal tax credit for VELUX skylights. If they add factory installed window blinds, they can receive an additional 30% federal tax credit because of the increased energy performance. Homeowners receive an average of $850* with federal tax credit eligibility which makes this product very affordable for any skylight application.

VELUX Skylights are designed for overhead, out-of-reach applications or for in-reach applications that do not require egress emergency escape capabilities. They are available in a variety of sizes and feature a wide variety of blinds. Also, VELUX has the Sun Tunnel skylight, which is easy to install. These innovative skylights bring natural daylight into spaces that otherwise would never feature traditional skylights.

For within-reach applications, VELUX Roof Windows are designed for places where traditional windows may not work. They are perfect for above-garage bonus rooms, lofts, and finished attic spaces.
